Privacy Policy

Who We Are

This website is operated by UK Scrap & Recycling, based in Leiston, Suffolk. For any privacy-related questions, please use the contact details in the Contact section of our website.

What Information We Collect

When you submit an enquiry through the contact form on this website, we collect the information you provide, which may include:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• The contents of your message or enquiry

We do not use cookies to track you, and we do not collect any information beyond what you voluntarily submit through the contact form.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit solely to:

• Respond to your enquiry
• Provide you with a quote or information about our services
• Keep a record of correspondence, where necessary for our business records

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)

We process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interest, specifically to respond to enquiries you have voluntarily made to us. Where a contract for work is subsequently agreed, further processing is carried out on the basis of that contract.

Third-Party Processors

To operate our contact form, we use a third-party form-processing service (Formspree) to receive and deliver enquiry submissions to us by email. This provider processes your data solely to transmit your enquiry and does not use it for any other purpose.

Our website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider (Netlify), which may process technical data (such as IP addresses) as part of standard web hosting operations.

This website also loads fonts from Google Fonts and shows an embedded Google Map, so Google may receive technical data such as your IP address when those load.

We do not share your enquiry data with any other third parties.

Data Retention

We retain enquiry data for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and, where a business relationship is formed, for as long as required for our business and legal record-keeping obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see “Your Rights” below).

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict how we process your data
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in the Contact section of our website.

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
